By Cole Sorenson,
This Saturday night, Western Speedway plays host to the Vapour Solutions Night at the Races, featuring the season opener for the Richlock Rentals Non Winged Sprint Cars, Galaxy Motors Stock Cars, the OTRA, IMS4 Mini Stocks, and the Island Dwarf Car Club.
The WILROC Sprint Cars kick of a busy 2016 schedule, which sees the series visit Western, Saratoga, and the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval, for a grand total of 12 events. Jeff “The Hurricane” Montgomery looks to capture his second WILROC title in a row, while Chris McInerney looks to defend last year’s championship in the Galaxy Motors Stock Cars. The OTRA doesn’t race for points, but the series still provides excellent racing, with the likes of George “The Jet” Jenson, Kail and Roger Beck, Larry Joyce, and the return of T’N’T Racing with Troy Tarbuck. Ryan Patterson won the Mini Stock championship in dominant fashion last year, and will have drivers like Sean Constantine, Alex Mouner, Lois Pollard-Grant, and Bobby Ryan looking to capture championship glory. The Dwarf Car division sees Tovay Helgesen coming in as the defending drivers champion. The Dwarf Cars will have a two day event this year as the AMCA series comes to the Speedway July 1st and 2nd.
Gates open for the Vapour Solutions Night at the Races at 4:30, qualifying at 5:30, and racing at 6:30. Head to www.westernspeedway.net or like us on Facebook for more information.
