This past weekend Western Speedway played host to the O’Dell Slinger Service Superhero night, featuring the Wilson’s Transportation Bus Race, LORDCO Auto Parts Demo Series, Nexx Financial Claimers, and the Marlin Motors Hornets.
The Mini Figure 8’s were the first main event of the evening, with Brenda Maber and Brandon Green leading the field to the green. Ryley Noyce and Tanner Jacobs led briefly for the first few laps, before Keith Cahill stormed into the lead. Cahill would hang on for the main event win, crossing the line ahead of Kyle Ridley, Steve Creasey, Tanner Jacobs, and Jake Burns. The dash win went to Keith Cahill, with heat race wins going to Ryley Noyce and Tanner Jacobs.
The Marlin Motors Hornets were up next, with Nicole Whitley and Bailey Meeres leading the field to the green. After three attempts at a start, the race finally got underway, with Bailey Meeres jumping out to an early advantage. Braydon Aumen would briefly grab the lead before being passed by Jason Day on lap 5, with Day dominating the rest of the race to claim the win. Braydon Aumen, Gary Isacson Jr., Austin Cockerill, and Brenda Leslie rounded out the top five. The dash win went to Ashley Creed, with heat race wins going to Jason Day and Gary Isacson Jr.
The Nexx Financial Claimers rolled out for their main event, with Shane Warde and Kristi Crispin on the front row. Brian Calderwood jumped out to a big advantage early on, but the caution would come out on lap 6 for Morgan Tallyn, who rolled to a stop in turn 3. On the restart, Allana Jacobs would take the lead, and held off Glen Percival, Kail Beck, Gord Percival, and Brian Calderwood for the win. The dash win went to Caleb Tims, with heat race wins going to Caleb Tims and Paul Flynn.
The Bombers were up next, with Rich Gerhardt and Stuart Campbell leading the field to the green. Bill Gallacher jumped out to an early advantage, with Brian Baltis moving into second. The caution would come out on lap twelve for a tangle between Sean Whitley and Brad Aumen, with Whitley trying to go three wide into turn three, and ending with both cars spun in turn 3. On the restart, Gallacher would pull away, and take another main event win ahead of Mike Dionne, Brian Baltis, Gennifer Isles, and Sean Whitley.
The dash win went to Mike Dionne, with heat race wins going to Brian Wakelin and Mike Dionne.
The last main event of the evening was for the LORDCO Auto Parts Demo Series, with Brandon Young and Gerry Bernard leading the field to the green. A hard hitting affair right from the start, George Haywood would get away from the carnage and lead the early stages, with Keith Hansen right behind in second. Hansen would make his move with seven laps to go to take the lead, and the main event win. Dash wins went to Shawn Young and Keith Hansen, with Hansen making it a clean sweep of the evening, winning the heat race as well.
The next race at Western Speedway is Cash Advantage Freedom Rent to Own Championship Night, featuring the Richlock Rentals Non Winged Sprint Cars, Galaxy Motors Stock Cars, Mini Stocks, Dwarf Cars, and the OTRA.
